Many know Riki Rachtman as the former host of the heavy metal show MTV’s Headbangers Ball or as a motorsports reporter on Fox Sports.
With over ½ million followers on Facebook Lea Vendetta an internationally known tattoo artist and model was featured on the TV program “Inkmaster”
. For years the duo of Riki & Lea have been riding a motorcycle across North America and inviting social media to not only follow the unpredictable adventure but to suggest the next destination. For each one of these rides they raise money for a designated charity.
Together they have donated close to $200,000. For 2022 Riki and Lea are at it again with “The Ride 22”. The goal is to ride their Indian motorcycle 10,000 miles and raise at least $20,000 for The Victory Junction The Victory Junction Camp is a place where children with serious illness experience the joys of childhood and forget about being sick for a while. When kids come to Victory Junction, they laugh, make friends, and have lots of fun, but the benefits of their experience extend well beyond great memories of a week at camp. Campers may have Spina Bifida ,Cancer lung disease or cerebral palsy. While they are at the camp they see other kids with the same illness. They are among their peers Long distance e motorcycle riding is nothing new to Riki who has ridden alone on a motorcycle coast to coast 14 times, from Mexico to Canada twice and in 2017 his ride made sure it went through all 48 contingent states. In 2018 Rachtman started dating Lea Vendetta who starred in season 1 of the television show Inkmaster. Riki suggested Lea ride with him on the back of the Indian motorcycle and 14,000 miles later they had raised over $32,000 for Stop Soldier Suicide. They returned to the road in 2020 and logged over 12,000 miles and donated $22,000 to the Alzheimers Association through the Ryan Blaney Family Foundation. All the ride expenses were covered by Riki personally or with the help from sponsors Both self proclaimed foodies many times these rides catered towards their quest to find the best. During one summer Riki and Lea enjoyed Boston Cream Pie in Boston, New England Clam chowder in New England ,Nashville hot chicken in Nashville Philly cheese steak in Philly and already slated for this year Maine Lobster in Maine for dinner and the next morning Pancakes in Vermont with Maple syrup. Not satisfied eating there way across the country they have accepted challenges like the time Riki dressed as a mermaid and entertained patrons through the sea through pool at the Sip and Dip Lounge in Montana. Through social media followers would see the highs and lows as they happen They have posted videos riding some of the most scenic roads in America and stopped at random iconic locations whether it was the birthplace of Hank Williams to the Haunted Stanley Hotel where Stephen Kings movie “The Shining was based. “One day we might be back stage hanging out with the Foo fighters and then we are trying the worlds hottest pepper in South Carolina”. Says Lea . One sweltering afternoon in Texas we drove 300 miles out of the way to visit the gravesite of legendary guitarist Dime Bag Darell from Pantera because it was Darells birthday . “We don’t have a crew, producer or chase vehicle” Riki explains . We have ridden in snow and logged hundreds of miles in the triple digits We try not to plan out to much in advance just incase we get distracted and head into another direction to check out something cool. On these rides they have planned several stops in advance where the supporters can meet them. Riki & Lea were both surprised one afternoon when in a small town in Michigan there was a parade and car show set up in their honor. They mayor even showed up. Riki & Lea are not your typical philanthropists . They both sport Mohawks and and are heavily tattooed. This year they hope to find the tastiest, scariest, weirdest and most spectacular locations in our country. They also plan on meeting more of their fans with “Roundups” being held at different locations. The Ride 22 will also visit the 3 biggest bike rallies Daytona Sturgis and Laconia. Several stops will include the American Flat Track Motorcycle racing series where Riki will be the track hype man and pit reporter for Fox Sports.
